Why presale and not direct sale? Because Sivan is committed to sustainability not just in design, but also in production. To prevent over production and waste, collecting presale orders before or at the beginning of manufacturing provides us with information to more effectively predict the needs of our customers. Knowing more about how much our clients want of each style and each fabric will help us avoid material waste. As a young brand we need all the information we can get, we appreciate our clientel’s patience, and willingness to step away from the industries current standard of over production and waste in the pursuit of ever quicker deliveries.
About the material: Melton (100% wool)
A robust wool, melton’s dense weave has made it a popular choice for any outerwear that requires endurance, and weather resistance, as well as warmth. Historically used in garments such as naval peacoats or CPO shirts, melton can be distinguished by its subtle fuzzy surface texture, giving it an almost felt-like appearance. This felt like quality, on top of its thickness, makes Melton abrasion resistant and moisture wicking.
Other materials: Bemberg (100% Cupro)
Our garments contain cupro lining, commonly known by the brand name “Bemberg”, a natural synthetic. While other synthetics may be manufactured using petroleum byproduct fibers, cupro is a sustainable alternative made from cottonseed oil. This biodegradable silk substitute makes for the perfect lining material.
Other materials: Cotton Plain Weave (100% cotton)
Our garments contain plain woven cotton in use as pocket bags, seam finishings, and when extra durability is needed, as a lining.
